... from the C.A.V.E. - Climate Adapted Variety of Excellence
Champion is the gold standard of collards for good reason. Developed by the Virginia Agricultural Experimental Station in 1979, and so originally called Vates collards (sort of an acronym), this variety has been further selected in the decades since for a long harvest window and better productivity. Broad blue-green leaves are tender and tasty any season but especially after frost. Dependably vigorous and resistant to insect damage.

I received these just three or four days ago and they've already sprouted, which is wild! And a little alarming. Are these collards TOO strong? Am I looking at a sort of "Little Shop of Horrors" scenario where they will take over my home?! Hopefully -- I love collards lololol.
