American native keeps a cloud
of 1-inch blooms floating all
summer over its 2-3-ft
mound. Bee-friendly flowers
are variations on sunny yellow
with red centers, with an
occasional all-red version. As
a dye plant the flowers make
a range of colors: rust, yellow,
bronze, green. Heat-tolerant
annual for full sun.
